A band plan is most useful in the places a website is least useful — a field day site, a parking lot, a summit. Band Plan: Ham Radio Toolkit carries this whole allocation offline, filtered to your own license class, alongside the ARRL band plan conventions, an RST reference, Q codes, CW abbreviations and the ITU regions.

Questions, answered

What frequencies can a Technician use?
A Technician licensee has all amateur privileges above 30 MHz, plus CW on portions of 80, 40 and 15 metres, and CW, RTTY, data, phone and image on 10 metres between 28.3 and 28.5 MHz. The table above lists each segment exactly as 47 CFR §97.301 grants it.
How much power is an amateur allowed to run?
1,500 watts PEP output is the general limit under §97.313, with lower limits on specific bands — 200 W on 30 metres and on the Novice segments, and 100 W ERP on the 60 metre channels. The power column shows the limit for each segment.
Is this the FCC allocation or the ARRL band plan?
Both, kept apart. The table is the legal allocation from 47 CFR Part 97 — what you may transmit. The band plan conventions listed under each band are the voluntary ARRL plan — where operators have agreed to put each mode. Only the first has the force of law.
Does this cover 60 metres?
Yes. The 60 metre band is listed as the five channels of 47 CFR §97.303(h), at 100 W ERP relative to a half-wave dipole, upper sideband, CW and data.
